Use a registered electrician

Would you use an untrained teacher with your children? Then why trust an unqualified electrician with your safety?

Are you really saving money?

Most people shop around for the best deals nowadays, saving money whilst still getting what they need. But when it comes to products and services that can potentially be extremely dangerous we need to make sure that we are still checking that the people and products we are employing are up to the job! Would you feel happy trusting an untrained teacher with your children? An unqualified doctor with your health? Or an untrained pilot with your safety? And if we told you that the average repair bill for poor quality electrical work is £750 (that’s a shocking £2.4 billion spent correcting substandard work across the UK annually) would you still consider using an unregistered electrician in your home or business?
Is it worth the risk?

Electrical work is one of the most dangerous tasks to undertake in the home, with potentially catastrophic consequences if not completed properly to required standards. Choosing a registered electrician gives you peace of mind that you’ve employed someone regulated by the UK Government – registered electricians have to meet strict qualification requirements, are regularly assessed by their scheme provider, and are legally qualified to carry out the most complex types of electrical work (rewiring a circuit or installing a new consumer unit) and sign off their work as safe. You also have the added peace of mind that registered electricians are insured so you know you’re protected if anything does go wrong.

So go for peace of mind whilst also spending you’re hard earned cash wisely

A properly installed and well-maintained installation can significantly reduce the possibility of accident or injury. So, it is important that any electrical installation work is carried out by people who have the knowledge, skills and experience needed to avoid the dangers that electricity can create.
Remember, registered electricians:
  • Are regulated by the UK government
  • Work to the BS7671 safety standard
  • Have their work regularly assessed
  • Are insured, so you’re protected
  • Are a legal requirement for certain electrical work

BUT beware of the fakes!!!

Unfortunately you’ll always find some rogue traders advertising themselves as registered with a government backed scheme. Always be sure to double-check with the scheme provider before any work commences.
